"The three days of Florence driven winds and more than 30 inches of rain, have resulted in devastating flooding and damage to homes and buildings estimated to be in excess of $17 billion. More than 250,000 homes in small North Carolina towns have been impacted by Florence along with countless others in surrounding areas." - EDA Move
"Samaritan's Purse has established our first base of operations in New Bern, NC, and today volunteers will begin tarping damaged roofs, removing downed trees and limbs, and performing mud-outs. We continue to monitor the situation in Wilmington and as soon as flooded roads are clear and our staff are granted access, we will set up a second site in partnership with a local church in the area. In addition, we have two more disaster relief units ready to deploy wherever the needs are greatest. We encourage you to monitor our website for more information and updates." - Samaritan's Purse
